Click Luxury Vinyl Plank
Click-lock luxury vinyl plank (click LVP) flooring is engineered specifically for efficient installation and long-term reliability, making it one of the most practical flooring systems available today. The installation process begins with preparing the subfloor so it is clean, flat, and dry, since uneven surfaces can affect the locking system over time. Once the material acclimates to the room temperature, installers carefully map out the layout to ensure consistent plank spacing and a balanced appearance throughout the space. Each plank features a precision-milled locking edge that clicks securely into the next plank without the need for glue or nails, creating a floating floor system that is both strong and flexible. This allows installations to move faster, creates less mess, and often reduces labor costs compared to tile or hardwood. The final steps include installing transitions, trims, and baseboards to complete a seamless, finished appearance that looks professional and refined.

Residential
For homeowners, click LVP offers an ideal combination of performance, comfort, and appearance. The floating floor system provides slight flexibility underfoot, making it quieter and more comfortable to walk on than tile or concrete. Many click LVP products are fully waterproof, making them an excellent option for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and busy family homes where spills and moisture are common concerns. Its wear layer protects against scratches, dents, and fading, allowing it to maintain its appearance even in high-traffic areas or homes with children and pets. Modern click LVP is also manufactured with highly realistic wood and stone textures, giving homeowners the luxury appearance of natural materials without the high maintenance or cost associated with hardwood. Because flooring dramatically affects how clean, modern, and updated a home feels, installing click LVP can improve both daily living and the overall market appeal of the property.

Commercial
In commercial spaces, click LVP is valued for its speed of installation, durability, and low maintenance requirements. Businesses often cannot afford lengthy renovation downtime, and the click-lock system allows large areas to be installed quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption to operations. If damage occurs, individual planks can often be replaced easily, just like traditional glued flooring systems, helping reduce long-term maintenance costs. Its resistance to moisture, scratches, and heavy foot traffic makes it ideal for offices, retail spaces, waiting rooms, rental properties, and hospitality environments. Beyond performance, the visual quality of click LVP helps businesses create a polished, professional atmosphere that improves customer perception and employee comfort. When considering its lifespan, ease of maintenance, and ability to modernize a space at a lower cost than many traditional materials, click LVP stands out as a smart investment for both residential and commercial properties.
Frequently asked questions
It depends. Some premium LVP products come with a pre-attached foam backing. If your flooring does not have it, you must install an underlayment to provide sound insulation, moisture barriers over concrete, and minor leveling.
Yes. Even though click LVP is stable, it expands and contracts with temperature changes. You must leave a 1/4 inch gap around the entire perimeter of the room and at all fixed objects like cabinets or pillars.
We will always recommend removing or prepping the existing flooring but nearly every-time the answer is yes. Click LVP can be floated over tile, linoleum, or wood, provided the subfloor is completely flat, clean, and smooth. You should never install it over carpet or heavily cushioned vinyl.
Most LVP is 100% waterproof and is commonly used for bathrooms, kitchens and basements. Spills are never really a worry when cleaned up in a timely manner. The joints on the other hand, are not as reassuring and water resistance can vary from product to product, so if you aren't quick at cleaning up spills or are using a material in a humid or moisture-rich area like the bathroom, we recommend going by the manufacturer specifications.
Wood Plastic Composite and Stone Plastic Composite are different types of rigid cores. Wood Plastic will have a softer and warmer under foot feel while Stone Plastic uses stone dust making it very rigid, better for resisting indentation and good for areas with high humidity.
LVP is very scratch resistant due to a thin clear layer known as a "wear layer" overtop of the vinyl. This takes the brunt of the scratches making them invisible and the material long lasting. The thicker the wear layer the more resistant to scratches the material will be.
